Göttingen & Arheilgen win D-Bundesliga day 5

Bianca Oberweg and Alexander Geist tasted blue total score at Kempten beton course, as they lead their teams to victory on day 5 of German Bundesliga 2008.

Bianca played an average score 24.33 (25 23 25), and Geist played 24.75 (23 26 26 24). The course can be rated as quite easy, as 20 players reached an average score under 27.00.

The two leading teams in men’s league, Dormagen-Brechten and Hardenberg-Pötter, ended up in tied points — sharing the third place, behind day winner SG Arheilgen and Bochumer MC in second place.

Competition between the teams is extremely tight on beton, and anything can happen on the last day of the league. Dormagen-Brechten has 6 points lead, but they still need to fight hard to keep their lead all the way to the end. The race for silver and bronze medals will be a guaranteed thriller between three or four teams.

In women’s league BGC Neutraubling fell dramatically from the quest for gold, as their last player Claudia Kuhn took full 7 points at the last lane of the last round, which turned Neutraubling’s third place into a tied fifth place on this competition day.

Competition on beton is remarkably tight also in women’s league, and nearly everything is possible. Much needs to happen, if someone wants to stop Mainz from taking the league victory, Göttingen silver medals, and Neutraubling bronze.
